George Steitz, the founder of Lebanon, laid
out lots in the confines of the original plot plan in what is now Lebanon.
Within the original area of the plan for the city was a 1 1/2 story
central chimney log house. Today the structure stands as a monument to
18th Century life in the community. Restored to its original

Its care is managed and protected by the Friends of The Chestnut Street Log
